aether generator is the most exciting musical grouping i have ever been a part of. steve and i improvise everything, constantly exploring new sounds, taking joy in accidentals, finding new ways to modulate and grain shift and loop, melting audio and bitcrushing beats. we like fuzz. we take delight in small sounds. he provides rhythm and effects, i operate almost entirely as an effects conductor, using his midi and sounds to feed my side of the mixer. it is very visual and immediate. i think the truest summary of our work came from an audience member:
this is music for futuristic science fiction movies yet to be made.
then we are the bladerunner of audio. i hope we find ourselves within the context of your beautifully dark film.
it shall breathe as it is.
